This was quite the emotional roller coaster ride. This was an incredible read. I have never read a book like this in my life. I consider myself an avid reader and I was quite blown away by the raw expression of the feelings being let out and dealt with in a manner that made me feel like I was there. I felt that pain he felt, and the joy, and the sorrow that he felt. Part of it was mine and I could relate to some of that. I thank you sir for your service and for showing a way of dealing with your emotions good and bad. It's not easy to tame certain thoughts and feelings and I sincerely hope that others read your book and find their way to healing and expression. I highly recommend this book.

J.L. Coleman writes about his (mostly wild) life experiences with incredible candor and introspect. Reading his work quickly became addicting because it felt like being right there with him, as he took me on an intense emotional roller coaster ride, through several phases of his life (his life story could probably be turned into a Lifetime Movie!). Although his personal story involves some incredibly crazy and difficult situations that I could only imagine, Jerred is easy to relate to in many instances, because of his ability to use his writing as an unfiltered outlet for a spectrum of his emotions, which became very identifiable to me, despite vast differences in our life experiences. I really hope to read a sequel someday, where Jerred recounts future battles fought, victories won and demons finally conquered - it left me rooting for his future personal victories and inspired me to see my own come to pass.
Mr.Coleman shows his deepest thoughts and feelings.Most people can't express their sorrow or joy, I believe he Did an amazing job of showing his true self.Loved this book,Can't wait for the next one.Kiddos Kind Sir. . Annie Mann Peters..
I have never been much for poetry but found this book very easy to read and understand! This was one of the quickest books I have read to date. The book does have everything in it that makes a book worthy to read-love, loss, tragedy to name a few! I would highly recommend this book of poetry to anyone!
I rarely read but knowing Jarred I bought his book just because. And once I started reading I didn't put the book down until I was done. It was a journey in his shoes some things I could easily share the emotions and knew what he exact emotions were and others were new to but nonetheless an amazing look into Jarred's life.
Intense. I could feel the emotion, the elation, the pain in every poem. Jerred opens the window to his soul for all to see by sharing the poems he's written about his life. To have survived and overcome these turbulent times is a testament to the strength of this warrior who in the midst of it all,also served his country.
Excellent read ,, from an introspective person. Jerred writes from the very bottom of his feelings,, very honest and frank.
I really enjoyed this book. Each poem speaks to the raw emotions that comes from a life of hard-earned experiences. As a veteran, Jerred conveys dark feelings about life, love and loss. In a strange way though, takes away the loneliness of depression and expresses that loss is truly a life experience that should be expected as much as what you would hope to gain. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a way to conquer their demons and for anyone who needs to realize that while they may have obstacles to overcome, they don't have to do it alone.
